Sunday and Thursday Learning Seminars with Achvat Amim's February 2022 Cohort
Dates: February 2, 2022 - June 26, 2022
Participatory Learning Process.
No two learning processes are the same... In learning sessions, lectures, and participatory activities, we engage with the Israeli-Palestinian region, based on the core value of self-determination for all peoples. Through a critical educational process, we explore history, identity, politics, economics, spirituality and examine the interconnections between them. We build shared knowledge and understanding of the complex reality on the ground and envision our role in the struggle for a society rooted in justice and equality. Achvat Amim approaches learning from a place rooted in identity, and much of the learning is through a Jewish lens. Achvat Amim engages with Jewish history, thought, and culture from a multitude of perspectives as we build a diverse learning community and shared understandings.

The group will have regular trips, seminars, and outdoor experiences throughout the region. We will run down sand dunes in the Negev desert, meet refugees in the West Bank, discuss politics with members of the urban kibbutz movement near Haifa and see the reality on the ground in Hebron. These trips are built as part of the participatory learning process, and so, in the nature of Achvat Amim-- we don't know yet what our next trip will look like! These trips are built along with our participants to meet their needs educationally, spiritually, and adventurously.
